How many of you out their setup LAN parties? I'm thinking about doing one myself someday in my new garage...since there isn't much in it yet :D
Any tips or things you have ran into that you wanna share? Also, what games are best for one? I know some are probably better than others....

I still want to hear from everyone else how theirs went, or how they went about a smooth party.

Always have a dedicated server, it helps a lot. With a dedicated server the maps on the gaes can be downloaded to each machine and it runs a little more smoothly. :cooler: :excited:

I have been to a few and all of them seem to share common problems:
Power (Not really an issue for me as I normally bring my laptop to these), network (don't try 10bt for anything over 4 people) and seating.
Most garages run on max 2 circuits, one for wall plugs the other for lights. A single should be able to do you for 4 machines max. Consider buying a plug adapter that screws into a light socket and you can add some more machines without having to run cables into the house. Tell people ahead of time if they need any maps (and give them a link as well) and what the network settings will be, DHCP or not. If you have a central server, then it would also be nice to have an intarweb connection available too. Be sure that central server has all the patches / maps that may be necessary.
