No games under Xp

I´ve been having some trouble with games lately on my windows xp. Almost every game on my pc starts and then, when the 3d part comes it reboots the system or it retruns me to the desktop.

I´ve played all those games before without any problems and now they won´t work. It´s driving me mad.

Counter Strike works fine, no crashes or anything like that, but for example sum of all fears o warcraft 3 or fifa 2003 demo reboot the pc.

Any ideas?

What video card and what version of DirectX?

I´ve tried to uninstall directx 9 and going back to 8.1 but i couldn´t

ait Do the Following.

Get the latest upgrades, patches, etc for those games. Check their web sites. Upgrade your video card drivers. run dxdiag (Start, run, dxdiag) and see how things go. Which DirectX version u have ? 8.1 works really well with me so far (I got XP Pro here).

If all that does not do it, try reinstalling the OS. Not a clean install, just install it on the top of the previous version. That should help a little if there were corrupted files. Hope this helps.
