I'm trying to get FF7 to use my geforce2 card in WinXP. (It's an Asus V7700). The only useful patches out there are for making ff7 work with old-*** nvidia cards. Any ideas how I can make this work? I remember using this card for d3d hardware acceleration with FF7 before although I'm not sure what os I was using back then.

Have you installed the latest drivers?

Run the DXDiag tests to verify that DirectX is working?
(start --> run --> dxdiag)

http://www.fileplanet.com/files/120000/120095.shtml - This patch will address all issues know when running Final Fantasy VII Platinum and Final Fantasy VII using Windows XP bringing FF7 to a 100% XP compatibility rating.

If the game works using DirectX, the specific card itself shouldn't matter as long as it's powerful enough to run the game...

Hey you can forget about this one. I used the nvidia patch and told it I was using an nvidia TNT card, then ran it in win98 compatibility mode. I'm not sure which of the two changes made it work but I'm too lazy to find out now. The only problem is that I can't quit the game without having to restart my computer.

I'll try that link though, there's definately still some improvement to be made here lol.

Edit: That's actually one of the patches I originally tried using so any effects of that are still in place.

Well, I updated the drivers and what do you know? Everything works fine. Thanks for the help.
